White Albino

Pure white body, red eyes, red gills

🦎 By The Axolotl Guide

What is a White Albino axolotl?

Very white pearl body, vivid red eyes, blood-red gills. Often confused with leucistic but the red eyes are the giveaway.

Morph-specific care

Same low-light considerations as gold albinos. Their gills change color dramatically with water quality.

Typical price

Expect $40 to $100 from a reputable breeder. Pet store prices are often double for the same animal with worse genetics. See the buying guide for what to look for.

Is this morph right for you?

  • Rarity: common. Available from most breeders nationwide.
  • First axolotl? Yes, ideal first morph.
  • Care difficulty: The same as any axolotl. Water temperature, filtration, and food rules don't change by morph.

Read the complete beginner setup guide before ordering any axolotl. Tank cycling takes four to six weeks and must happen before your axolotl arrives.
